The history of JSC NIIneftepromchim originated from NPO "Soyuzneftepromchim" founded by order of Minister of oil industry of the USSR N.A.Maltsev in February 1978. The specialists of the Institute had to solve two main problems: development of the technologies for improved oil recovery and development and production of chemical reagents used in oil production. The problems aimed at increase of recovery factor of the mature fields and decrease of expenses for production of each ton of oil. The problems are still urgent under the conditions of market competition of oil companies. In 1997 the Institute was reorganized into JSC NIIneftepromchim. The Institute NIIneftepromchim has built up an effective scientific and technical potential: 168 technologies have been developed and used, more than 300 patents and certificates of authorship have been received, more than 500 papers have been published. In 1997 International Gold Star for Quality was awarded to the projects of NIIneftepromchim. In addition, the medals of the Russian Exhibition Center were awarded to 13 projects. There are 3 professors and 36 PhDs of science among the scientific employees of the institute. The staff undertakes the efforts mainly in development of the integrated technologies which would enable the user not only to solve the specific problem but to control the technological and economic efficiency of the proposed approach and its effect on environment. The Institute offers the system technology for reservoir stimulation involving computer modeling of formation processes, selection of technology for treating each particular well, evaluation of results and supply of the reagents and units for compositions' blending directly in the field. NIIneftepromchim has been carrying out research and design work in all trends related to chemicals' application in oil production: physical-chemical and microbiological methods for improved oil recovery; corrosion protection of oil-field equipment using corrosion inhibitors and bactericides; paraffin prevention and removal in oil-field equipment; scale prevention and removal in oil-field equipment; oil treatment and transportation; blending and dosing eqiupment; metrological support for research and design (stationary, portable and mobile chemical laboratories); ecological projects for using the products of oil-field chemistry in oil production (ecological monitoring); development of technologies for chemicals’ production; international scientific-technical cooperation. The scientists of NIIneftepromchim formed a basic range of products for the oil industry: demulsifiers, corrosion inhibitors, paraffin- and scale inhibitors and removers, a broad range of reagents and technologies for treatment of bottom-hole zone and improved oil recovery. Nowadays majority of the reagents of SNPCH trade mark compares favourably with home analogues in efficiency; they have been successfully used in different regions of Russia and CIS: West Siberia, Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Komi as well as in Ukraine, Byelorussia, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. The capacities for the reagents’ production are sufficient for fulfilling the needs of oilmen both in volume and range of products. Total production of the reagents is more than 10 thousand tons per year. The institute can develop and supply the required amount of reagents and equipment, provide field testing and control of their use on the order of oil companies at the earliest possible date.
